Being a Catechist means putting your own faith on display. It is an amazing opportunity to have a real impact on the lives of young people. What a wonderful thing if you think about it. To have the chance to instill a deeper faith in a classroom full of children…what better vocation is there than to help young people grow in their faith?

We provide an easy-to-use manual with detailed instruction for each week's lesson. We limit our class size to about 20 students and the children gather by grade level.

Becoming a catechist

We invite adults (age 18+) to share their faith journey with our children. Our Sunday class volunteers help welcome young children into God’s family and into a relationship with His Son.  As mentor, model, and difference maker in the lives of our children, volunteers are at the heart of Prince of Peace Faith Formation at every level. We provide an easy-to-use curriculum and encourage all our catechists to be creative and share their personal witness of faith to those they are serving. Adults must be an active member at Prince of Peace for 6 months prior to volunteering.

*Teens grade 9th-12th are invited to volunteer in Children’s Ministry Sunday Sessions.
