become a faith formation catechist at pop
We invite adults (age 18+) to share their faith journey with our children and teens. Our faith formation volunteers welcome young people into God’s family and into a relationship with His Son. As mentor, model, and difference maker in the lives of our children and teens, volunteers are at the heart of Prince of Peace Faith Formation at every level. We provide an easy-to-use curriculum and encourage all our catechists to be creative and share their personal witness of faith to those they are serving. Adults must be an active member at Prince of Peace for 6 months prior to volunteering.
*Teens grade 9th-12th are invited to volunteer in Children’s Ministry Sunday Sessions.

Teaching Truth
We depend upon our volunteers to witness and communicate the beauty, truth and goodness of the Catholic Church. Our team of catechists will have the opportunity to share the following teachings which we hold as true.
That the Holy Eucharist is the true Presence (Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity) and not a symbol of Jesus Christ.
• The obligation for Catholics to attend Mass every Sunday, including Holy Days of obligation.
• Going to confession and receiving the Eucharist at least once a year.
• Observing days of fasting and abstinence.
• Providing for the needs of the Church through financial and/or spiritual/corporal works of mercy.
• Accepting the Church’s teaching on the sanctity of life, the Immaculate Conception, and the teaching on the Sacrament of Marriage.
• Our Catholic Faith is the only religion that holds the fullness of truth.
*If you have any concerns with communicating and bearing witness to the teachings above, please reach out to one of our ministry leaders for further discussion.
