The Knights of Columbus POP Council 11716 and the POP Respect Life  Ministry would like to thank the Prince of Peace Parish leadership and  parishioners for the wonderful support of the recent K of C Aid and  Support After Pregnancy (ASAP) fundraiser for Mater Filius  (“Mother-Child”) of East Plano. Thanks to the wonderful generosity of  many POP parishioners and the POP Respect Life Ministry, the event was a  great success. All the funds raised have gone directly to Mater Filius  of East Plano. Mater Filius in East Plano, founded by Prince of Peace  parishioners, has two residences for pregnant women with no other means  of support. Mater Filius puts into action the pro-life message of our  Catholic faith by providing housing and other important support for  pregnant women in need. Our prayers for a successful  fundraiser were certainly answered but a greater blessing occurred the  first day after our ASAP weekend. On Monday August 14th, a beautiful  healthy girl was born to one of the mothers living at Mater Filius in  East Plano. In this photo, you will see baby Sarah being held by  Marthalicia Burkle, co-founder of Mater Filius in East Plano and a  Prince of Peace parishioner. This beautiful picture is a wonderful  manifestation of the important pro-life efforts implemented every day at  Mater Filius and supported by the Prince of Peace Parish community.
