Why should your church community offer an addiction ministry? Because addiction and other negative behavior is a wall between you and God, As well as a wall between you and your family, your work, and the rest of your life. Also, we are mindful that addiction can be life threatening.

We at Prince of Peace Catholic Community believe in you and your ability to seek and receive help and we want to do our part. We know that this journey is very rarely accomplished alone, so we have gathered resources, both here at Prince of Peace and in the community at large, to support your healing. Confidentiality and anonymity will always be maintained at every level.

We also are here to support the family members in their journey. Family life is greatly affected when addiction is present in the family. The very fiber and fabric of a family can be torn or broken down by addiction. We encourage you to take all appropriate action necessary for a complete healing. Our resources are available to everyone who has a need in the community, not just Catholics. Help is a phone call away.

Substance abuse, negative behaviors and bad habits can intrude in our lives and interfere with our relationships with others and with God.

We are a ministry founded from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop's pastoral letter titled "Always Our Children." We are charged with providing a safe, nuturing, and confidential environment for parishioners, drawing up the "reserviors of faith, hope, and love as they face uncharted futures" to understand clearly what the teaching of the Church is regarding same gender attraction. We are all God's Children. We are all welcome at His table.

You may find the USCCB's letter: here.

Four parishes share this ministry: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Mark the Evangelist, and Prince of Peace
