Financial Peace University

Classes start September 10th.

We will be meeting on Sundays from 10:30AM to 12:30pm beginning October 10, 2017 through November 12, 2017.  More details will be posted at a later date.

We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that
plan! It teaches God’s ways of handling money. Through video teaching,
class discussions, and interactive small group activities, FPU presents
biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve
dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt,
manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more.

POP Youth Ministry Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage

POP Youth Ministry Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage

What we are doing:

This Summer the graduating Seniors from the POP Youth program are going on the inaugural Camino de Santiago, one of the oldest and most traveled Christian Pilgrimages in the world.

Why we are going:

The goal of the Youth Ministry is to form the youth at Prince of Peace into Disciples of Christ by providing the most comprehensive and engaging ministry possible.  We believe that including this Pilgrimage to Spain for all graduating seniors is a perfect way to conclude their time at POP, and commission them as disciples as they transition into adulthood into college and the world.

Our pilgrimage to Spain this summer in many ways embodies our vision of creating Disciples, as we are going back to one of the sources of our faith.  The Camino de Santiago is the believed path that St. James took to spread the Gospel to Spain after Pentecost, and has been a Christian Pilgrimage site since the middle ages.  What better way to prepare our teens for a lifetime of evangelization than retracing the steps of one of the 12 apostles?

I would ask you to join the youth ministry in three ways as we prepare our journey.  We are hiking the last 111 kilometers of the Camino, and we are need your prayers.  Second, send us your prayer intentions.  It is customary for people to bring specific prayer intentions with them on the Camino, and to offer up prayers along the way.  Every day we are going to say a rosary for this community and we are going to bring your intentions with us to Spain.  Third, I would like to consider donating for this trip.  Our goal is $20,000 and every bit helps.

The Way of the Cross: The Way of Mercy
Feb

to Feb 17

The Way of the Cross: The Way of Mercy

Join Father Chris Decker, President of The Catholic Underground as he connects the ancient Christian devotion of making the Via Crucis (The Way of the Cross) with our Holy Father's invitation to journey along the Via Misericordiae (The Way of Mercy).

Learn how each Station of the Cross is more than just a snapshot of the Life of Jesus and is really a doorway to encountering The Lord's passion in our lives.

By Stepping from our present-day into the timeless moments present in the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus, you'll discover how God is extending great mercy right now to a world in great pain. The occasions of mercy contained in the Way of the Cross then provide the soul with a plan for finding hope and sharing it with others.
