There are many opportunities to participate more deeply in the musical life of the parish, and we invite you to contact us to find out how you can become involved in music ministry at Prince of Peace.
THE LITURGICAL CHOIR
The Liturgical Choir prepares music from a wide variety of styles. Membership is open to all singers high school age and above. Music reading skills are not necessary but are helpful. A short interview with the Director of Music is required, primarily to determine voice placement.
THE PRINCE OF PEACE CHILDREN'S CHOIRS (GRADES K-5)
All children are welcome to join the choir at any time during the year, however, it is my strong recommendation that your children join us at the beginning of each school year and remain with us for the entire year.
BELLISSIMO! HANDBELL CHOIR
Bellissimo! handbell ensemble has begun a new wave of ringing, learning and discovering challenging and beautiful new repertoire to share with the Prince of Peace Community.
THE APOSTLES COMMUNITY ENSEMBLE
The Apostles work hard to create a enthusiastic and creative worship experience by including hymnody and psalm from both the past and the present. Mainly led by our many youth in the parish, we hope you'll join us and add your talents to our creative choir of vocalists, instrumentalists, and percussionists!
PRINCE OF PEACE BRASS ENSEMBLE
This ensemble of brass instrumentalists add to our celebrations and feasts through the gift of instrumental music. While all instrumentalists are welcome to audition, this is a select group of players.
Our Cantors provide musical leadership at all liturgies of the parish. An audition and interview with the Director of Liturgical Music is required. One should be able to read music and have a pleasant voice to be a cantor. Special training will be provided as required.
This ensemble is an auditioned ensemble that provides music for special liturgies, events and concerts. Good reading skills are required
POP STAR CHOIR (GRADES 6-8 IN POP SCHOOL)
This choir will assist with our weekly school mass, weekend mass, and various events within the POP community. We will concentrate on cantoring, a variety of choral music styles, instrumentation, and percussion.
PRINCE OF PEACE INSTRUMENTALISTS
We are always looking for instrumentalists to play in our liturgies. We especially welcome guitarists and other instrumentalists at our 5:00 Masses on Saturday and Sunday. At the other Masses, instrumentalists are used to accompany the choirs and to assist the assembly in their participation in the liturgy.
