In 2001, while a student at the University of Texas at Austin, I had my initial encounter with Christ… a moment that has changed the course of my life forever. Prior to this, I had been an agnostic for four years. From the moment of my reversion, I knew my life would never be the same.
I quickly developed a passion for learning about the Faith, which had never previously existed. My exploration ultimately led me to pursue a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Upon graduating, I returned to Dallas as a substance abuse counselor. 4 years later I opened up my own marriage and family counseling practice, specializing in working with teens. The Lord had other plans for me though. After a couple of years in practice, a youth ministry position at All Saints in Dallas opened up and, by the grace of God, I was chosen. I enjoyed four great years with the All Saints family.
In 2013, I was offered the opportunity to create a young adult ministry at Prince of Peace. It was a challenge I couldn’t pass up. As soon as I arrived, I was astounded to find such a welcoming community and passionate Christian servants. We worked to create a culture of encounter and discipleship, which was best seen in our primary young adult event, EXALT. I also began working on my MA in Theology, which I hope to complete in the next year or so.
After ministering to young adults for 4 years, our pastor (Fr. Tom) decided to create a new position to cast vision and bring cohesion to the many excellent ministries at our parish. I was named Director of Pastoral Ministries at this time. It has been an honor to serve in this capacity, and I am incredibly moved to see what the Holy Spirit is doing at Prince of Peace.
My wife and I enjoy attending the 9:30am Mass on Sundays, and our 7 kids live for the “Knight’s breakfast”, as well as meeting in St. James Hall for “Coffee and Donuts” afterward. If you see us, come say hi! We’re thrilled you’re here and hope to get to know you!
