Hello!! My name is Emily Tann and I'm so incredibly excited to be on staff at Prince of Peace. I just graduated from the College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech University where I studied Advertising, Public Relations, and Graphic Design! I grew up Catholic in the sweet city of Sugar Land, TX. Faith was always the center of everything my family did, and when I moved 9 hours away to the windy city of Lubbock, I relied on my faith to build a new community. A few months into college, I retreated Raider Awakening and felt Jesus' love truly present in my life for the first time, and I was filled with the purest joy. Ever since that moment, my faith became more than just going to Mass or praying before meals and when life got bad. I chose to become a disciple and surrender my life to Jesus.
As any college student does, I began questioning what my purpose was in life, how I would make a career out of my college degree and ultimately be fulfilled in what I was doing. I have always wanted to work for something more than money and person prestige; to be dedicated to serving others. The more I grew in my faith, the more signs Jesus placed in my life that I could use my gifts to serve Him. I then focused all of my studies on non-profit work. This eventually led me to work for the Diocese of Lubbock. While working there I was able to coordinate retreats and create marketing content for the Evangelization and Family Faith Formation division. This was fruitful in my understanding of ministry and how to be an effective voice for the Church.
I am so humbled and grateful to be your Marketing & Communications Coordinator. If you see a new face of an extremely tall girl--it's likely me, so come say hi! I am looking forward to meeting every single one of the parishioners at Prince of Peace!!
